2 - It was a very exciting (and reasonably well-played) game until the end. You kind of felt it getting away in the 8th when Timlin put two guys on and Francona (unaccountably, to me) pulled him for Foulke. The park had been rocking until then, and things quieted down quickly.
The 9th was just ugly. And all after two were out. My eyesight is just bad enough that I couldn't tell which side of the pole the Hafner shot went to, and I had to watch the umpire. Sigh.
Theo needs to figure out how to shore up this bullpen, but I'm not sure what he can really do if Foulke has just lost it. Getting Schilling back and moving Arroyo to the pen doesn't solve that problem... (Comment this)
3 - No, but trading for Billy Wagner does both. With the Phillies dropping fast in the NL east, He's bound to be at least partially available. (Comment this)
4 - i don't think i'd trade for wagner..i think he's an injury waiting to happen..all this talk about arroyo going to the bullpen - what about miller? he's definitely been our worst starter, but i could still see him being effective out of the bullpen..wouldn't suprise me if he gained a few mph if he only had to pitch an inning or two.. 5 - unrelated, but can i just say that hate steve phillips..that guy 's an idiot..did you read his espn article on managers..what a piece of crap..now i'm listening his commentary on the sox - him and bobby valentine must have been quite the duo... (Comment this)
9 - Smith - TSN's way wrong. They apparently stopped paying attention after the 7th inning.
Nick and WCSG - maybe. From what I've read and what I assume, though, Miller can't really go to the bulpen - a guy with his type of injur risk, you want him to be on a pretty regular schedule, which he couldn't be in the pen. Obviously he'd be my first choice but I doubt it'll happen. (Comment this)

The TSN site reports the Sox as having won this game, which made this post and subsequent comments very confusing to me. (Comment this)
I'm kidding. I actually agree that Miller could be effective used in this way. (Comment this)
